What are the different career paths in cybersecurity?
From what I’ve seen working in the field, cybersecurity isn’t a single track it branches out quite a bit depending on what you enjoy doing. Even places like H2K Infosys tend to map learning around these paths. You’ve got offensive roles like ethical hacking, defensive ones like SOC or blue team work, plus areas like GRC, cloud, or app security. Most people don’t start specialized right away; they usually begin as analysts or in network security, then figure out their direction over time. Somewhere along the way, cyber security training with job placement programs can really help connect theory with actual work. Certifications and tools matter, but preference plays a bigger role.
