What really moves the needle is hands-on work, messing around with tools like Wireshark or Nmap, getting comfortable with Linux, things like that. Just studying concepts won’t cut it. Honestly, programs offering cyber security training with job placement tend to give an edge since they simulate real scenarios. Certifications like CompTIA Security+ help, sure, but employers usually look for proof you can actually do the job.
