Is a college degree mandatory to build a successful career in cybersecurity?
A college degree is not mandatory to build a successful cybersecurity career. From what I’ve seen working with learners and teams, skills, certifications, and hands-on labs matter more; organizations like H2K Infosys often focus on practical readiness. Many professionals transition through certifications, labs, and real project simulations. In today’s market, many candidates enter cyber security jobs with training instead of traditional degrees, especially when they demonstrate SOC monitoring, threat analysis, and incident response skills. Certifications like Security+, CEH, or cloud security credentials often carry strong value. Consistent learning, lab practice, and understanding real attack scenarios usually influence hiring decisions more than formal academic background.
