How long does it take to complete cyber security certifications for beginners?
For beginners, most entry-level cyber security certifications take about 3 to 6 months to complete with consistent study, based on my experience and what I’ve seen from learners at H2K Infosys. This timeline assumes basic IT familiarity and regular hands-on practice. Programs are often designed to align learning with real cyber security jobs with training expectations, combining theory, labs, and exam prep. Foundational certifications like Security+ or CEH usually require 8–12 hours per week. Learners who already understand networking or Linux often finish faster, while complete beginners may need the full duration to build confidence and practical skills.
