What is the difference between TestStepBlock and Reusable TestCase?
In Tricentis Tosca, TestStepBlock and Reusable TestCase are both used to improve reusability, but they serve different purposes. A TestStepBlock is a reusable collection of TestSteps, commonly used to avoid repetition within multiple TestCases. It is lightweight and best for repeating small logic like login or navigation steps. A Reusable TestCase, on the other hand, is a complete TestCase that can be embedded inside other TestCases and executed independently. In any TOSCA Automation Tutorial, TestStepBlocks are explained as modular building blocks, while Reusable TestCases support end-to-end reuse and maintenance at a higher level.
