What should I expect from QA vs DevOps?
From my experience, QA focuses on validating Software quality through testing, defect tracking, and ensuring applications meet business requirements. DevOps focuses on automating development, deployment, and infrastructure processes to deliver software faster and more reliably. In real projects, QA professionals work with tools like Selenium, JIRA, and test automation frameworks, while DevOps engineers use tools like Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms. QA roles are usually more testing and quality driven, while DevOps roles require scripting, cloud knowledge, and CI/CD pipeline management. Both roles are highly in demand in 2026, but DevOps typically requires stronger infrastructure and automation skills compared to traditional QA roles.
