Which certifications are most valuable for a cyber security beginner?
For a cyber security beginner, the most valuable certifications focus on fundamentals, real-world relevance, and role readiness; from my experience working with entry-level teams at places like H2K Infosys, starting with CompTIA Security+ builds a strong baseline in threats, risk, and controls. CEH helps understand attacker methodologies, while ISC2 CC introduces governance concepts. These work best when paired with hands-on labs and Cyber security training and placement programs that simulate enterprise tools such as SIEMs, vulnerability scanners, and incident workflows. Certifications signal readiness, but practical exposure determines job success.
