What level of programming knowledge is recommended before starting a cybersecurity course?
From my experience, you don’t need advanced programming to start a cybersecurity course; basic understanding of logic, networking, and operating systems is usually enough. At H2K Infosys and similar industry-aligned programs, beginners often start with fundamentals and gradually build scripting skills. I’ve seen many learners transition successfully by first focusing on security concepts and threat awareness. As you progress, Python or scripting becomes useful for automation and analysis, especially when preparing for cyber security jobs with training programs. Knowing how code works is helpful, but problem-solving, analytical thinking, and understanding system behavior matter more at the entry level in real-world security roles.
