What is the difference between a Template and a TestCase?
In TOSCA, a Template acts as a reusable blueprint for creating multiple similar TestCases efficiently. It defines a test structure with placeholders for data, allowing testers to link external data sources or parameter sets. A TestCase, on the other hand, is a specific instance derived from a Template, containing actual test data and executable steps. Templates save time, maintain consistency, and simplify maintenance when dealing with large datasets or repetitive scenarios. Learning this distinction during TOSCA Training helps professionals design scalable, data-driven test automation frameworks that enhance test coverage and reusability across multiple testing environments.
